Photoshoot
In the past week, I have taken my photos
for the project. In the photo shoot I used a Cannon 400D with a wireless sync
to the flash. I learned how the wireless sync works and I also learned about
the set up of lighting. I used two soft boxes, one was the main source of light
and the other lit up the other side of the model which had shadows without the
second light.
When taking the photo I noticed there was shadow on the models
neck which we got rid of by pointing a honey comb light to her.
You can see the difference in the lighting
in the following pictures:
In the photo shoot I brought reference
material for the model to look at for certain poses and facial expressions. I brought examples of a variety of poses, all of which I liked, and then I let the model choose the expressions she felt most comfortable with. I
learned that the photos look more natural if you count down from three and then
the model will pull the pose in time for the photo instead of waiting for me to
take the photo whilst holding the same pose for a while, this means that it is more comfortable for the model and the look is more natural.
Reference material:
At first I was taking the photos without
the full body in, her arms were chopped off. I learned that it is better to
have the full body in the shot and then crop them later if needed, rather than having a shot I like without the whole body.
Here is an example:
